Yes you can. My husband left home at 16, he had a job to go to, he had saved ALL of his pocket money, birthday money and xmas money since he was 13 secretly so he had enough money to get him over the first couple of months after moving out. As you can guess, he hated living at home (he was abused) so was desperate to move out. He lived in cheap crappy acomodation until he changed job and got somewhere a bit nicer. Its bloody hard, you need money for deposit when you rent, often a months rent up front, money to get through the month on, and a decent job that pays enough for you to pay rent, bills and food. Its not easy at 16, and will be tough but it is possible if you sort out finances correctly first. When I met him he was living on toast, baked beans and pot noodles pretty much, he couldnt afford proper food, he bought the cheap own brand bread, pasta, etc, couldnt afford heinz or any of the dearer branded stuff. Its possible, but I wouldnt want to try it at 16.
