If she is serious about her religion, then she will follow the guideline set by the church of waiting until 16. If I thought my 12 year old wanted to date, I would say no, too, and I am not a Mormon. 16 is a good age to start dating. 12 is too young. Legally you cannot make that decision at 12. If you are serious about your faith, and your relationship with your parents, you will respect both. There is plenty of time for dating later when you are mentally mature enough, not just physically.
