Can a 1-yr dog be crate trained. And is there free electronic training available?
My husband gave me a 1 yr old Shitzu for V-Day. The first week he was perfect! No piddles or poop. This week he is chewing, pooping, and peeing when I am away at work. My co-workers have suggested I crate train him. Is it too late? He is 1 yr old and I’ve already had him for 10 days. I don’t have a lot of money is there training available online. No. I started crate training a 2 year old dog from a shelter. It’s not too late. Make sure the crate is big enough for him to stand up, and turn around in. You may notice he still poops or urinates in his crate – have patience, and expect to clean something up after work. Start feeding him IN his crate if you notice he still potties in it. If you have to, use puppy pee pads in his crate instead of a bed for a while (To help with clean up) You can do it! Good luck!
