See Hesse-Nassau in the prior question. After WW II part of the area was in West Germany and part in East Germany. It is now part of Hesse, one of the sixteen states of the Federated Republic of Germany. The reference place names are Germany, Hessen-Nassau and Germany, Preußen, Hessen-Nassau.
