The German name for East Prussia is Ostpreußen. In 1815 Prussia was divided into West and East Prussia. After WW I the northernmost region became part of Lithuania and the southernmost portion of East Prussia became part of Poland. In 1945 East Prussia was divided between Poland and Russia. The reference place names are Germany, Ostpreußen (East Prussia) and Germany, Preußen, Ostpreußen.
