By using PerfectPass, do I need to learn a new way to drive slalom? Are there buttons to push on the dash or on the floor between passes?
To put it simply, the answer is no. Basically it works like this for slalom: Before pulling the skier up on the first pass, the driver sets a “skier factor”, and the speed that they want the speed control to maintain – for example, lets say 34 mph. Now, the driver puts the boat in gear to tighten the slack from the ski rope. When the skier says “hit it”, the driver accelerates the boat just like they would as if they were driving manually. When the engine RPM’s reach the pre-programmed value set for 34 mph, the speed control takes over the control of the throttle linkage. The system constantly monitors the RPM’s of the motor and compensates for RPM fluctuations. When the driver wishes to stop the boat (at any time), they simply pull back on the throttle just as they would have done when driving manually.
