Burglar Bars / Security Gates: Can I fit burglar bars to my apartment (windows and doors)?
Owners are able to fit burglar bars to windows and trellidoors to door apertures on the following conditions: a) Burglar bars / trelli-doors must be on the inside of all windows openings only. b) Colour of burglar bars to match the aluminum window / door frames.(Dark Brown, Black or Bronze Anodised aluminium only) c) Trelli-doors must be fitted to the inside of the glass door / windows. The only exception is for front doors, where a trelli-door (a collapsible or retractable gate is required not a solid fixed gate). This can be fitted on the outside of the front door and is required to be painted in a colour to match the front door. However, prior to the finalization and installation of any burglar bars / trelli-doors, owners are required to submit their proposals to the Design Review Committee (DRC) for prior approval and authorisation.
