Bridgestone Potenza RS92 or Goodyear Assurance Tripletread?

I have a 2004 Subaru Outback and I’m trying to decide what tires to get. The Bridgestones are stock, but Consumer Reports gave the Goodyears their highest rating. However, the test was from November 2005. The Bridgestones that are on there now are fairly loud on the highway, so I don’t want a tire that’s going to be any louder. Also, I live in Colorado so I do a fair amount of snow/ice driving in the winter; though not enough to warrant studded tires for the winter. Any opinions would be much appreciated, or suggestions for different tires. Thanks! A: Go to Tire Rack at www.tirerack.com and use their tire selector for help. You can put in your make and model and driving style and they will come up with recommendations. With their survey and test results, it is hard to imagine a more comprehensive resource. For instance, see: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Goodyear&tireModel=Assurance+TripleTred Click on the tabs near the top for SURVEY, REVIEWS and TESTS and see.
