Breastfeeding moms…have you ever had breast pain that seems like its heading for mastitis…?

Yes I often get pain on one side only that I think will turn into mastitis but doesn’t. I find I go through stages where my baby causes me pain and my breast becomes very sore. I find that changing the position I feed her in and making sure she is attached really well helps to fix the problem. When I have had mastitis (twice) I didn’t get any warning, I just woke up with a fever and nearly passed out in the shower. These painful episodes have never turned into mastitis but have been so painful that I find myself stamping my feet on the floor as my baby starts to feed.
