Brain Tumor found during coincidental MRI, should I read between the lines?

Sorry John I know you would like a more definitive answer, but there is nothing between the lines to read in this report. I read radiology reports all day long and you can tell if the doctor is hedging toward a cancer diagnosis and this report does not do that. Without contrast they really cannot see this mass well enough. If it helps at all the differential findings stated are pretty rare so the odds are in your favor that it is none of these things. Apparently you had some sort of head and/or back trauma and these findings may be consistent with whatever happened to you. The radiologist does not have your history and would not know, this is why they recommend a consult with a neurosurgeon or a neurologist. If you were a member of my family and I read this report I would not be concerned about cancer at this point. Good luck.
