Bought an item on ebay, just to be safe, how long should I wait for a reply or responce from the seller?
I understand your concern. I’ve been there. However, I’ve had sellers take several days to respond to me at which point they let me know that the item has already shipped. If it’s an eBay store or a seller who does a lot of business online, it is possible that he/she/they have not had a chance to get to your e-mail. This happens. I wouldn’t worry yet and I certainly would not file any formal complaint. Keep in mind how long you have to file a complaint with eBay and wait until a few days before this deadline. For now, keep checking your e-mail and consider looking at the seller’s profile. Sometimes they offer phone numbers to call.
Right well, generally the seller has an automated email which will send out to say congratz youve won etc. etc. Most sellers will also email to say that they have posted the item, but not always. This isnt always something to worry about as i have had items arrive before I even knew they had been sent. Your protection ends after 3-4 weeks if im not mistaken. So best bet would be to give it about 3-4 days and if you still have no response then email him again asking for confirmation that he has shipped the item. After all it has only been a day and a half and some seller are rather disorganised.. Check the auction and see what it says about delivery time – usually within a week, so if you do not recieve it and have still had no response, send a final notice to the seller saying that if he does not respond within x amount of days you will be opening an ebay dispute (which will usually grab their attention).
I been a seller on ebay for 9 years now. Ebay allows seller or buyer 3 days for contacting one another. Besides you have up 60 days to file a complaint with pay pal send all your emails to your seller through the ebay system so you have proof if you need it. I suggest to send another email to the seller and after 3 days past & no response report him /her to ebay.
