Both my husband and I have screened positive for Tay-Sachs disease, what can we do?
Since both you and your husband tested positive for Tay-Sachs, your baby has a 25% (1 in 4) chance of getting the disease. If you get pregnant, your doctor can test using chorionic villus sampling or amniocentesis to determine whether your baby has the disease. Your other options are to adopt children, or to have artificial insemination by a noncarrying donor.
