BioCoRE is being developed by the Theoretical and Computational Biophysics group at the Beckman Institute for Advanced Science and Technology at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. The funding for the project is coming from the National Institutes of Health (NIH). The Principal Investigator on the project is Klaus Schulten. The Co-PIs are: Gila Budescu, and Laxmikant V. Kale.
