Bible contradictions; what did happen on the road to Damascus?
What happened on the Road to Damascus was a strategic change of mind as a result of an attack of epilepsy, when Paul fell from his horse and, as usual, people hear voices during an attack of epilepsy. The strategic change of mind was that Paul was on his way to persecute the Nazarenes in Damascus and realised that to physically persecute them was counterproductive. So, he decided to join in order to fight them from within. But when he tried to join, the Apostles of Jesus rejected him. So, he fought them Psychologically till the end of his life. And he did cause them much harm.
