Best way to travel in Europe during the winter?
I take the trains most of the time when I go out exploring here in Europe including in the winter unless the distances require a flight. There are still a number of budget airlines operating here, so it’s not prohibitively expensive to fly. There are lots of great Christmas markets at that time of year. There is advice on Eurail passes, links to the various national train websites and other useful tips. The German train website is good for finding schedules throughout Europe, but you’ll need the other national sites to price tickets.
