Testing is here to stay, and it plays an important role in our schools. But test scores should be viewed only as one tool in measuring student performance. Tracking data on what happens to students after leaving high school is important in measuring success. Graduation rates, dropout rates, % of students entering junior colleges and 4-year colleges, % of students entering the workforce these are just a few examples of the type of information we should be tracking in order to determine how well we are doing, as a community, in creating successful citizens.
