For intact dogs (males) and bitches (females) there are a number of differences. Dogs will have a much bigger, more profuse coat, especially in the area around the neck, called the “mane”. As a result, males require more of a grooming effort. Bitches coats will not be as big or impressive and may be slightly softer.
