Besides producing two annual conferences, what else does Gender Spectrum do?
We are working hard year round on quite a number of projects and services. Here’s a snapshot: • Training, education and consulting services to schools, nonprofits, workplaces and other organizations on gender variance, especially related to children. • We have support groups for families of gender variant children. Families can attend in person at our two Children’s Hospital groups – one in Oakland, CA and the other in Seattle. People outside these areas are able to tele-conference in monthly. • Gender Spectrum has a referral database of medical and mental health providers who work with transgender and gender variant children and adults. • We collaboratively produce Translations: The Seattle Transgender Film Festival, now in its fourth year. • Our strategic plan includes a full service medical clinic for transgender people, especially children, and we are currently in the process of providing peer mentorship programs to families with gender variant children. • Our co-founder Stephanie
