Besides my sons athletic talents, how important a factor is character when a scout is assessing my son?
Today’s scholarships and draft choices are evaluated just as much for their “makeup” as they are for their skills on the field. We know from top college and MLB scouts that the decision to offer a player a position on their teams, and often invest millions of dollars (2009 signing bonuses broke all records despite the Great Recession), is predicated on determining that a young man is of the highest character, as well as a great ball player. Division 1 and MLB scouts are looking for young men who can mature quickly, play with older players and conduct themselves in a responsible fashion. We will teach our players how important time management is to being a starting player for a Division 1 college or a young player in the MLB. We expect these lessons to be useful for all walks of life as they get older, as well as their future baseball careers.
