Being a Kigurumist sounds like fun!! How can I become one?
In order to be a proper Kigurumist you need a body suit and a mask. The body suit which is the “skin” of your Kigurumi should be close to the color the the skin of the character you are trying to portray. The body suit should also have a hood and an open face. Bodysuits can cost up to $100. A bodysuit good for Kigurumi use can be purchased from Bodyweaver at www.bodyweaver.com The Kigurumi mask should of course look like the character you wish to portray or be of an original design. Taking up Kigurumi can be a fun but expensive hobby. Kigurumi masks can range from $400-$1,500 in US dollars. Some Kigurumi artist have made their own body suits and masks, however, be forewarned, making a good mask or bodysuit is difficult process and thus it may be better if you buy your masks and suits.
