Hi: I am so happy to hear you say you will be properly preparing your soil for seed or sod. So many people forget this step of preparation and it is important you prepare the ground. You can til two to four inches depending if your ground is flat or uneven. Make sure you work the soil with the tiller a few times. The more you work the ground, the better chance your sod or seed root system will grow. I have a page in the outdoor section of my website on sod versus seed. I will link you to it to see if you can get any tips on doing sod or seed. I will also link you to my sitemap as this page has everything that is on the website. Browse through and see if there is any other information that may be helpful to you. If you need any further help or suggestions on sod or seed and preparation, please feel free to contact me on the website. I hope this has helped some and good luck to you. Have a great day! Kimberly
