Is one form of assessment best? There are several studies that evaluate ABE students’ reading comprehension ability. One of these also provides at least some information about ABE students with a reading disability and ABE students whose first language is not English. In addition to the above, comprehension is the only major topic area where research was found that begins to consider questions related to the quality of the tests used for assessment.
