Babysitting Minimum wage?
Well I’m paying a licensed daycare $90/week which is open from 6:30 AM until 6:00 PM – 5 days a week. I think your best bet is to discuss this with the parents of the children about what they are planning to offer. Also discuss this with your parents to find out what they feel is fair. Also, does this family provide lunch for you? Are you required to prepare lunch for the children? I think if you’re going to charge her minimum wage to babysit, she may as well place her children in a licensed daycare where the children have more children to play with and the option of field trips and people trained in CPR and other emergency techniques. By hiring you to babysit, she is hoping to save money from the cost of a daycare, and allow you to earn some extra money. I understand you don’t want to get ripped off, but you don’t want to rip off these people either. If your only there 4.5 hrs a day, I think $10-$12/day would be more than fair especially if they are providing you lunch and transportat
