Ans. As per WHO traditional medicines that are in use since centuries and mentioned in any classical text for a specific disease or condition, need not undergo safety and toxicity studies. Any new formulation however, needs a safety and toxicity evaluation, i.e Pre-Clinical data before Clinical Trials of new formulations is done and then sold in the market.
