available ptys”… What gives?
There are three possible solutions: 1. Make sure that there are ptys configured into the kernel… Use ‘kconfig’ to check that NPTY is non-0 2. For at least one user, copying the /usr/lib/X11/xterm*.tic files to /usr/lib/terminfo/x/xterm(s) worked… 3. One final possible solution is to start ‘xterm’ from ‘sh’. ‘ps’ and ‘pstat’ only seem to work for root.
