At what temperatures and humidity can VIVILON be applied safely?

0

VIVILON is ideally applied in temperatures ranging from approximately 50°F up to 90°F. However, they can be applied in temperatures approximately 10°F colder or hotter if a fast or retarder solvent is added to them. The effect of adding a solvent to the coating is to prevent sagging of the coating on a cold day, or having the coating flash off and have coating imperfections on a hot day. (A list of appropriate solvents that are compatible with VIVILON is available by contacting us directly.) There is also the subject of relative humidity to be considered in addition to ambient temperature. All coatings, not just VIVILON, should be applied when the dew point is at least 7-10 degrees below ambient temperature. Dew point is different than relative humidity, although closely related, and both are reported by most good weather information sites. For those who care to understand these concepts and what it means to a coatings performance when spraying outdoors, we provide a brief explanation
