At what temperature should the thermostats be set?
During the winter months, the thermostats should be set between 50 to 55 degrees. This should prevent freezing of the pipes providing insulation is adequate. The sheet rock manufactures recommend that the room temperatures be kept at 50 to 55 degrees. Long term cold can damage the sheet rock. Continue your propane service during your absence. During the warm months the thermostats can be set on their lowest setting.
