At what stage are references requested?
A key requirement relating to safeguarding children best practice is that, wherever possible, references should be sought prior to interview. The system default is therefore set to send reference requests to the applicant’s referees as a candidate is shorlisted for interview. The recruiter can, however, choose to alter the stage at which references are requested on the system for a particular vacancy to after interviews have been completed. This decision will be at the discretion of individual recruiters.
