At what rate do Promotores turn over?
Of the original group of five Promotores, one has left. That individual was replaced, and two additional Promotores were hired – giving us a total of seven. LAYC is placing a significant emphasis on retaining the Promotores, including paying them a higher salary than other front-line positions at LAYC, providing them with additional training and professional development opportunities, and with career paths. We are also looking to the possibility (in conjunction with a local university) of providing college credits for their work.
