At what height do the pressure transducers and PressureWire Interface need to be secured?

The external pressure transducer of the guiding catheter should be placed at the same level as the aortic root (where it will be measuring proximal pressure). That is normally 5 cm dorsal to (below) the sternum. (If the external pressure transducer is calibrated at the mid auxiliary line, the PressureWire Sensor will appear to read several mmHg below the external transducer. In this case, the external transducer needs to be raised several cms). Even if the RADIAnalyzer is used, the external pressure transducer needs to be placed as above. The PressureWire Interface or the RADIAnalyzer can be placed anywhere – the relative height of the Interface is not critical. The height of the PressureWire Sensor during calibration is not critical, but it is important that the fluid column above the sensor element is minimal during calibration. Note: The sensor should be calibrated in the coil it is packaged in (the coil should be filled with saline and be lying flat on a table during calibration –
