At what age is it appropriate to begin Friendly Chemistry?
We generally recommend that parents begin using Friendly Chemistry when their children are at the middle school or junior high level. Basic algebra skills (e.g., solving for unknowns) are necessary to complete the course. A child who is concurrently taking a beginning algebra course can generally do quite well with the Friendly Chemistry curriculum. The course is comparable to a high school chemistry course. However, children as young as 6 years of age have used these materials with success!
