Some additional information (Princeton’s Ivy Club and Similar Eating Clubs): Eating clubs are a type of social/dining club- in some ways, similar to fraternities on most university campuses. Eating clubs have a long tradition at Princeton University, but are not exclusive to Princeton. For example, Purdue University has been known for eating clubs as well, with that university’s most prestigious being the “Morley Club”. Purdue shares some aspects of its campus culture with Princeton University- both universities have similar school colors and share similar architectural designs between Princeton’s Blair Hall and Purdue’s Cary Hall. This was a statement by Purdue’s founders to create an engineering-based university which is perceived to be a scholastic standard for that type of education- similar to Princeton being a standard for liberal arts education.
