Assuming that the Vestry accepts the Committee’s recommendation, when will the new Rector start?

The first step will be to discuss with the candidate things like salary and all the other things that a new employee needs to know. Once we have an agreement, the candidate will notify the old parish. As soon as that has happened, the Vestry will notify our parish. The new Rector-to-be will then need to say goodbye to the old parish, get things organized there, have a going-away party, find a place to live here, etc. That all takes time; therefore, the person won’t start for perhaps as long as 2 months or so. That will seem like a long time for us to wait, but at least much of the uncertainty will be over. Please continue to pray for the Vestry, the Committee, and the candidates.
