Assuming IRB approval is needed for all participating design schools and there be a review time after the development of the first public user survey?
IRB processes are lengthy and can take several weeks for a project of this magnitude. The survey schedule would need to accommodate the approval processes required. That said the survey instrument proposed is well known and validated. It will be important to learn from each design school whether their local IRB will accept a review application for approval in concept of the survey protocols and script, user demographics sheet, the referents to be tested and the Public Information Symbol Survey, prior to final artwork being completed.
