A. No, because the audition has to be in-person at the band, which would be impossible while in basic training. You would need to wait until you complete basic before auditioning. Even then, auditions are scheduled only when openings are announced. However, occasionally, people do audition for regional bands while in basic. One of our active duty bands, The USAF Band of the West, is stationed at Lackland AFB and can assist in this process. (See the Regional Bands FAQ for information on the process.
