As technology continues on its evolutionary course, how will online education be effected?
Well, as access to broadband connections increases, the capability of providing different kinds of learning strategies is greatly enhanced. For example, we might be able to use a lot more streaming video, or more interactive video, and this may pull more prospective students into online learning who need to see a teacher’s face. So it could have a big impact. Also, there’s a second generation Internet that’s being used by some universities as an experiment, and there may be a lot of possibilities there that we would not have seen with the regular Internet. Distance education is here to stay, and the possibilities are endless as to what you can do. Obviously, it takes a lot more time to deal with the technology necessary to teach online, but there’s a lot more satisfaction with this process as well.
