Yes. Catholic Medical Center remains a non-profit, acute care community hospital with an “open-staff” and thus the Affiliation Agreement respects its ability to maintain multiple relationships including those with both employed physicians and private practice. Furthermore, any clinical and strategic planning initiatives and decisions will originate at a local level. Both organizations agree that decision-making and planning needs to be done at the local level where there is direct experience and interaction with the patient and community base that can be positively impacted.
