Response: The Clean Indoor Air Act does not restrict or regulate outdoor smoking as it applies to private clubs. The CIAA does not require the club to designate outdoor smoking and non-smoking areas. If the club chooses to designate an outdoor smoking area, the Department of Health recommends that the designated area for smoking be located away from building entrances, windows or openings, and have appropriate containers for ash and cigarette disposal. A distance of 20 feet from the building entrances is recommended. Question: We currently have two buildings. One is our community hall where our fire department (volunteer) does all fund-raising.
