As an RA/RTA I have access to send to a list of students (such as DL-Class2008). Now that I am working in Google Apps, can I still send to class lists?
In order to send to an email list (such as DL-Class2008, etc) your CMC Network user name and CMC Network password must be given access to the list. If you are an RA/RTA then you already have this access. When you send a message to the list, your CMC Network user name and CMC Network password must reach CMC’s email server in order for it to identify you as valid sender. Sending email from your new Google Apps will not properly identify you because it will not send along your CMC Network user name and CMC Network password. Therefore, in order to send email to these lists, you will need to configure an email client to send the mail directly to CMC’s mail server.
