As an official Olympic venue what scale of broadband infrastructure and other connectivity improvements will be provided to Osprey Quay and more widely?
The level of broadband infrastructure will be improved for the Games period by BT with the objective of retaining high quality links post 2012 for benefit of business. Work is progressing with local business and network providers on this issue. In addition mobile phone operators are committed to enhancing their network services in time for 2012 with these improvement being lasting legacy. Q: Is the full extent of Land required by LOCOG for support facilities at Osprey Quay i.e. Tank Farm Site etc. known. A: There is clarity over the areas of land which South West RDA is making available for LOCOG to use during the Games period, essentially those parts of the Mere Tank Farm not required or being leased to the Sailing Academy for car parking. These areas are likely to be used for temporary facilities, back up offices etc. during the Games and will be available for employment uses in the long term, a further legacy benefit.
