As an experienced teacher from out-of-state, can I qualify for the Washington professional certificate without applying for the ProTeach Portfolio? What about reciprocity?
Currently, reciprocity agreements cover only the first level of certification, not the second-tier level. There has been a reciprocity agreement with Oregon. However, Oregon has made changes to their Continuing Teaching License; therefore, review of the reciprocity agreement is currently underway. As an experienced teacher from out-of-state, you are required to meet or exceed the passing score of the ProTeach Portfolio in order to earn your professional certificate.
