As an angler who is lucky once in a while,to catch a Carp in Stillwater.I wondered if you have any tips on how to catch Carp in Rivers?
Yes I can help you here Brian, infact your local river stour holds plenty of carp to well over 30lb’s the first and most important thing would be your lead size would need to be at least 3oz to 4oz just to hold bottom, no need to change your rigs as most standard rigs work well on rivers, the carp in the river systems seem to prefer lying beneath over hanging hedge rows / shrubs etc not forgetting snaggy areas too also under moored boats infact anything that shades or overhangs the water like under cut banks are all worth a look at. I would also recommend using pva foam on your hook before casting in stopping any debris masking your hook. Hope this helps Tight Lines Camo.
