As a Verio reseller, is there a way that I can make my own privately branded version of ACE?
The short answer is “no”. There are two sets of installers available. One has the Verio, Inc. branding; the other has generic branding. The long answer is that it is actually possible to edit the ACE resource files to change the branding yourself. Many aspects of ACE can be customized in this way. The problem is that to easily pass your changes on to your customers, a new installer package would need to be created. Additionally, it is possible to make changes that will cause ACE to malfunction, so making changes is an inherently dangerous activity which is not recommended. Because of the effort required to make the installers, we unfortunately cannot build new installers for every reseller who would want a custom version. If you have the appropriate software package (and it is very costly), you can certainly build your own installers. Be forewarned that if you choose to try this, you are completely on your own.
