As a supervisor, what are my responsibilities for the Penn Data system for special education data collection?
Each district/charter school collects data at the student, building, and district level twice a year to comply with federal and state requirements. Intermediate Units are responsible for collecting data from all districts/charter schools. Supervisors must attend all trainings/meetings at their Intermediate Unit along with their data entry staff. Supervisors must be very careful with the accuracy of the data entered, since state and federal reports are based on Penn Data, and Intermediate Units use the data for funding purposes.
