As a parent should I be concerned about alcohol, and drugs in the residence halls?
The Residence Hall staff attempts to help students learn how to assume the responsibilities of being an adult member of the residence hall community. Community guidelines, policies and confrontation of inappropriate behavior are essential ways of supporting the positive development of the students. Alcohol is only permitted in Pickerl Hall and at University Apartments, in individual rooms and only by those 21-years-old. Weapons of any kind are not permitted on the ISU campus. Most college students make responsible decisions about the use or non-use of alcohol and other drugs. However, we know that some students make potentially risky decisions. There are a few things that you, as a parent, can do to help your student make the right decisions.
