As a DW System Owner, how do I bill non-residential users on septic or holding tanks?
Non-residential users on septic or holding tanks are assessed the BRF fee similar to residential users. If a business has one septic tank as a single owner/user, the fee should be calculated at $2.50 per month. • As a DW System Owner of a residential trailer park community, I do not bill the users for water service. The water charges are included in the rent. Do I have to collect/pay the Bay Restoration (septic) fee? No. You are not a water billing authority under the BRF, and the County will be responsible for collecting the BRF (septic) fee. • As a DW System Owner, I also provide water to another entity (e.g., County), and invoice them on a single bill based on metered water usage. The other entity in-turn bills its customers separately. Do I have to collect the Bay Restoration Fee for the other entity customers? No. In the above example, the other entity is the primary water billing authority for its customers and is responsible for collecting the Bay Restoration fee, if applicable.
