As a die hard Mets fan, whats your take on their season so far?
CD: I am unfortunately a die hard Mets fan! I made the mistake of buying the MLB extra innings package and I religiously watch every game. They were on a good roll, but unfortunately, they need another good starting pitcher and we could use help from the bull pen. They’re playing gutsy and it’s still early. Having been a Mets fan, in the back of your mind you’re always skeptical, but you keep hope. MM: Your moving play about your father, Digging Up Dad, received rave reviews! What inspired you to write such an intense piece? CD: For better or worse, everything that I do has a great deal of intensity. I don’t know why, I like to think I have a sense of humor [laughs]. It’s an intense piece and experience. I hate the term “artist”, but I do have a creative outlet. I have three daughters and when I found out I was having a son, I guess that was the motivation for trying to come to terms that I didn’t know my father…I never had a relationship with him. But oddly, I got to know him better
