As a charter school administrator, how do I confirm that an individual’s fingerprint clearance card is valid?
You may access the Teacher Certification database through the Arizona Department of Education’s (ADE) Common Logon. Individuals do not need to hold teaching certificates to be included in this database. If they marked either the “Charter School Teacher & Instructional Staff” box or the “Department of Education Certification” box on the fingerprint clearance card application, their file should be tracked through the Certification Search database. If you are the charter representative for your school, then you should automatically have access to Certification Search. It is up to the charter representative to decide who, if anyone else, has access to Certification Search and to contact ADE’s Support Center at (602) 542-7378 to set that up.
