Sounds like you’re in a right mess. Scream at GP to get referral to Physio. Failing that, review your lifestyle, swimming is really good, stretching but get advise from someone qualified-usually the local public gym have trainers who are very able to advise, if you can afford it-see sports therapist (get referred to someone good via your sports centre). Lower back problems usually end up kicking off the neck and shoulders and vice versa. In my experience, you have to break the viscous circle the body has got itself in to and usually a lot of small things help. Generally professional people are very pleased to give advise and not charge.
