No, not anymore than a policeman’s response to criminal activity is contributing to the crime problem. What is troubling is that many in the international community, at least where Israel is concerned, refuse to make a moral distinction between genuine acts of terrorism, and legitimate defense countermeasures against terrorist activity by the Israel Defense Forces. Unfortunately, many in the liberal left try to paint both Israel and the Palestinian Authority as morally equivalent entities, and this is just plain wrong. Israel is not contributing to the problem at all. That is not to say that Israel has made mistakes, but to claim that Israel is just as bad as the Palestinians, is like comparing the arsonist with the fire fighter. Terrorism is a criminal activity that purposely targets the most vulnerable members of Israel (or any) society in order to further a political objective.
